Celebrate our region’s cultural, historical, recreational and environmental resources in a family-friendly environment. Participate in our second annual WinterFest at Heritage Park on January 27, 2018, 10 AM to 2 PM to be held at the Black Canyon Heritage Park (33955 S. Old Black Canyon Highway, Black Canyon City, AZ).

This event offers curious participants of all ages and physical abilities a variety of discovery experiences to instill respect, responsibility, and stewardship for the surrounding area. While at the Park, you can tour the Old Cañon School Museum and stroll around the Heritage Park while enjoying an afternoon of live music with Jeff Paris. Items of special interest to children of all ages are: Smokey the Bear and live reptiles!

Exhibitors include Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service (with Smokey the Bear), Arizona State Parks (with free Park passes), Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary, Sierra Club – Grand Canyon Chapter, Arizona Audubon, Desert Awareness, Desert Foothills Land Trust, Phoenix Herpetological Society (with live reptiles), and more. See www.BCHeritagePark.org for current list.

Local artists will be selling their crafts and arts. Refreshments will be available for purchase thanks to Nora Jean’s Koffee Kitchen and Kona Ice. Activities with the Black Canyon City Community Library, Daisy Mountain Fire Department and Friends of the Aqua Fria National Monument will both entertain and educate.
