Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics & Dance Center has moved one mile north from its long time Thunderbird location to a 34,000 square foot, newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility that is light-filled and energy efficient.

This long-running gymnastics and dance center – now celebrating 28 years in business and coowned by Julie and Dan Witenstein – not only features brand new pieces of gymnastics equipment, five in-ground trampolines, but there are also three, larger dance studios and even a licensed Active Preschool! Their weekly yoga classes and popular “Ninja Zone” classes for boys and girls continue, plus, all-new classes in aerial arts, musical theatre and Twist n Tots.

Designed and built by local firms, Holly Street Studio Architects and Chasse Building Team, the new facility also features an increased viewing area for parents, outdoor courtyard, a café, gift shop, and much larger parking area. Mayor Stanton, also a Sunray’s customer, stated that the new facility “is the crown jewel of the N. 32nd Street Corridor!” This project was years in the making. One hurdle was finding the right site in their current neighborhood. They finally found it on an abandoned-looking four-acre former eyesore they had driven by for years!

“Staying in the neighborhood that has supported us for so long was very important to us.” Julie explains. “Our confidence in our staff and the tremendous job they do is what gave us the courage to move forward with this dream adventure,” she added.

Arizona Sunrays draws over 2,000 families per week to the North 32nd Street Corridor and features local businesses: Karl’s Quality Bakery, ROC2 coffee, China Mist teas, AZ Pops and Salad Dash in their café. Community members are invited to stop by the front desk for a visitor pass and receive a guided tour of their new facility which is open seven days a week.
