Hi, my name is… Dr. Jenna Dye

My company & title: Dr. Jenna Dye, Naturopathic Physician

A typical day in my life includes: My typical day has certainly changed recently, but usually it involves getting myself ready for work and the kids ready for school. They are in two different schools, so mornings were very busy with different schedules and different drop offs. Now, with school out, I am still getting myself ready but also trying to do some homeschooling or spend time with the kids before I go to the office. We have our good days and bad days. My husband, who is working from home right now, juggles the kids at home while I go to the office. After a full day of patients, I try to squeeze in a workout. Recently, I am using the Daily Burn app and I love it. The evening is followed with some playtime outside, dinner (with vegetables from my garden), reading with the kids (Now my 7-year-old reads to us!), and bedtime for the kids. After they go to bed, my husband and I watch a show on Netflix. We are currently re-watching “The Office” for the 5th time! It never gets old.

My favorite thing about living and working in the North 32nd area is: I am so lucky to live and work in the North 32nd area. This neighborhood is incredible, and all the businesses are so supportive of one another. I am from a small town in Northern Arizona (Kingman), so I love the “small town” feel of this neighborhood.

My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching: The Greatest Showman. This movie was the first real non-animated movie my kids really enjoyed. The music is excellent and the storyline of starting a business, having the ups and downs, and not giving up on your dream rings true in so many aspects. It is one of those movies that puts a smile on your face.

My family is… the best! My husband, like me, is from a small town (but in Wyoming). He is a scientist. I also have 2 extraordinary little girls, Ivy (7) and Autumn (4) along with 2 dogs, Penelope, a Shih tzu/Yorkie mix (10) and Harper, a Irish Golden Doodle (1).

The business lesson I learned the hard way is: Balancing the work-life balance. As a business owner you are really always working so finding that healthy balance is so essential for your health and wellbeing.

One thing I cannot live without is: My vegetable garden. I have been gardening since I was a kid (with my mom). I love to get my hands in the dirt and find gardening to be very therapeutic. I love teaching my kids to garden as well!

When I was younger, I wanted to be: Believe it or not, it was a doctor. I remember this since the 2nd grade. When I was 16, I decided to become a naturopathic physician.

The song I would sing at karaoke night is: Tiny Dancer by Elton John.

The one person who motivates me is: My husband, Ben. He motivates me to be the best version of myself. He continues to give me encouragement and support and is a wonderful partner in life.

The last thing that made me laugh out loud was: My kids. When you have a 4-year-old and 7-year-old there is constant laughter. My oldest is an aspiring TV star and my youngest believes she is Wonder Woman, so yes, I laugh out loud every day!

The perfect day would be: Starting the day with a workout, a hike or mountain bike ride in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve followed by a good cup of coffee with oat milk creamer on the back porch next to my garden. If I was not going to work that day, I would enjoy a family bike ride or a day in the pool. To end the day, a fun neighborhood happy hour in the driveway (we have the best neighbors), followed by a movie night my family.

My first job was: A courtesy clerk at Albertson’s. I bagged groceries and collected shopping carts from the parking lot.

My life: is full of love! I am so fortunate to have a wonderful family, incredible friends, amazing patients and live and work in a supportive community.

I’m currently working on: Transferring all my paperwork and forms electronically. This is a big deal for me!

The best gift I ever received was: For my 30th birthday, my dad took me on a Grand Canyon River rafting expedition for 7 days and 6 nights. It was such an unforgettable experience.

The actor I would want to play me in a movie of my life is: Emily Blunt.

My dream vacation would be to: go to Machu Pichu. It’s on the bucket list.

My words of wisdom to aspiring business owners: Love what you do! Find balance in your life.
