Hi, my name is… Holly Henbest

My company and title is…. Realtor, The Henbest Team, Realty ONE Group

A typical day in my life includes… Usually my phone wakes me up with a text or call and then I’m off and running. Between talking with clients, other realtors, lenders, title companies and vendors, I’m usually on the phone for several hours each day. I also spend a lot of time on the computer, reviewing data, research and reading. I also spend a lot of time planning – my calendar, social media content, advertising, photo and video shoots. There are also showings, walk-throughs, inspections and meetings. Each day is action packed! I typically take a break in the late afternoon to make dinner and have some mom time and then I usually work after my son goes to bed and plan my next day.

My favorite thing about living/working in the Desert Ridge area is… We live in an ideal location with great proximity to so much – airport, hiking, freeway access, great restaurants, shopping and great schools.

My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching and why… “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” I always need a reminder to slow down and enjoy the little moments.

My family… My son Jake is a junior at Pinnacle and we have two furry blonde babies – Lily and Rosey. Lily is a labradoodle and Rosey is a cavapoochon.

The business lesson I learned the hard way is… I can’t think of any hard lessons learned, but rather everything I’ve tried or risked has taught me something. I like to take risks and try things. Some work and some don’t, but I’ve learned from them all on how to improve and make a more educated decision the next time.

One thing I cannot live without is… Coffee. I must have two cups every morning and sometimes an afternoon pick-me-up!

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a race car driver (if you know me this isn’t a surprise), back-up dancer/singer (still wish I had the talent for it), architect (I originally was going to major in architecture in college, but opted for business management), wedding/party planner (I worked for Marriott for 4 years so I had a taste of it and I do love to throw parties) and realtor (I wanted to be a realtor when I graduated from college, but couldn’t afford a commission-only job with no benefits or pay. I also couldn’t afford the investment required to get started)! I’ve now been a realtor for 14 years! Proof that wishes do come true!

The song I would sing at karaoke night is… “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Sweet Caroline” In my mind I would be amazing, but the reality doesn’t match my vision of my performance.

The one person who motivates me is… me! And my son! I want to create the best life possible for him and be a role model. But I do have an internal motivator and I want to keep striving to improve and grow.

The last thing that made me laugh out loud was… so many funny texts have been coming in fast from my sister and girlfriends. We all need to laugh!

The perfect day would be… Coffee and breakfast on my back patio, a road trip to Sedona with Jake, maybe I could squeeze in a massage at the end of the day and a glass of wine in the hot tub.

My first job was… Big Olaf Ice Cream Shop in Solana Beach. I made great waffle cones and all my friends would visit during my shifts.

My life… has had many twists and turns that I never could have imagined, but I’ve loved the journey and continue to look forward to whatever is coming next!

I’m currently working on… ways to improve balance. It’s been something I have worked on for my entire life and have to continue to focus on to try and improve.

The best gift I’ve ever received was… an activity. In our family we try to give gifts of activities – trips, concerts, events, and massages. I would much rather have something to do than another thing. Time together is the best gift of all.

The actor I would want to play me in a movie of my life is… a blonde Brooke Shields.

My dream vacation would be to… I’d love to tour Europe. For the last 10 years we’ve been visiting states all across the U.S. and it has been awesome. My son has a goal of visiting every baseball stadium and we just have one left to visit. Atlanta is the last one to check off the list and then it will be time to spend some quality travel time visiting outside the U.S. A visit to Hawaii sounds pretty great too!

My words of wisdom to aspiring business owners… My mottos: 1. Do the right things and the right things will happen. 2. Do what you love and love what you do. The combination of those two have been my key to success and happiness.
