When the dust settles after the start of the new school year this fall, many students will add to their schedules by attending night school at Deer Valley Academy (DVA). Started in 2001, DVA serves students in the greater Deer Valley/Peoria area for credit retrieval or, as an educational option to earn a high school diploma.

The next session for DVA begins August 22 and ends October 13. Classes meet from 3:00-5:30pm and/or 5:50-8:20pm, Monday through Thursday. Class offerings will include ELA 5, 6, 7 & 8; Geometry, Algebra Applications, Environmental Science, Biology, Am/AZ History, Am/AZ Government, Career Exploration/ECAP and 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. As a non-profit charter high school, tuition is free. Registration will be held August 16, 17 and 18 from 2:30-6:30pm at Deer Valley High School, Rm 608. Other sessions to be offered throughout the school year: October 24 to December 20; January 9 to March 2; March 6 to May 2, May 3 to June 26 and July2017. Any high school student with his/her counselor’s approval may attend, and those wishing to attend full-time should schedule an appointment with Ms. Carol Willette at the number listed above. In the 2015-16 school year, approximately 700 students enrolled in over 1000 courses.
