My company is… a networking and socializing organization for women called Housewives in the City-Phoenix. You can find out more about the group by following me on Facebook: www.facebook.com/phoenixhousewives/

A typical day in my life includes… planning monthly networking events, posting on various social media channels, connecting with local nonprofits that support women and families to see how we can support them, and writing for my blog.

My favorite thing about living and working in this community is… all of the fun restaurants in the area. I love supporting local and some of favorites include Benedict’s Cafe for breakfast on the weekends, Danky’s BBQ for lunch and The Sicilian Butcher for happy hour or dinner.

My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching is… Pretty in Pink. I may be dating myself here, but it’s a definite classic.

My family… is my everything. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and we have two boys, Greyson (5) and Kellen (3).

The business lesson I learned the hard way is… to always get everything in writing. When putting together an event contract or an advertising package, make sure both parties are well aware of what they’re agreeing to – and that you have the written document to prove it.

One thing I cannot live without is… a monthly pedicure. As a mom of two little boys, my time at the nail salon is my “me” time.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a Chicago Cubs baseball player. That didn’t work out for me, but public relations and blogging is a close second to my dream job.

The song I would sing at Karaoke night is… Ice, Ice Baby. I’m pretty sure I still know all the lyrics — but nobody should have to endure my singing.

The one person who motivates me is… my mom. I watched her work hard so that my sister and I could get the right education and everything we needed to have a wonderful childhood.

The last thing that made me laugh out loud was… a video that went viral of a woman in the school drop-off line. Keep those cars moving! We have places to be, folks.

The perfect day is… a March afternoon spent at a spring training baseball game. It’s my favorite time of year.

My first job was… scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins across from the Scottsdale Galleria when I was 15 years old.

My life… has been a journey and I look forward to seeing where else the road takes me.

I’m currently working on… decluttering my house. I will likely never be a minimalist, but I would love to have less “things”

The best gift I’ve ever received was… my two children. I’m so lucky to be called “mom.”

The actress I would want to play me in a movie of my life is… Kristen Wiig. She’s so funny!

My dream vacation would be… to the Maldives or the Seychelles.

My words of wisdom to aspiring business owners is… be prepared to work really hard and don’t give up if you’re discouraged by something bad that happens on your journey to success. Keep networking and tell your story to everyone you meet. Use social media to gain more exposure. And most importantly, be kind to yourself.
