My company and title is…. Realtor® and Managing Broker, North&Co. Real Estate By Trade

A typical day in my life includes… A stacked calendar and a whole lot of variety! I’d imagine if I was followed around by an observer one day would be substantially different from another. Personally, some constants would be meditation or exercise or both, and I’m a pretty regular Phoenix Mountain Preserve hiker. I work out at Personalized Pilates, a studio at the NE corner of Shea and Tatum. For work, it’s really fair and true to believe that I have a flexible schedule. But, that translates to every day looking different with the who, where, what and times of to-do’s, appointments and events. The constant of my business are that I will be on the phone, navigating a persistent flow of email and text, in meetings with clients and my team zooming in and out of a broad spectrum of topics, and no doubt I will be personally handling sensitive, exciting and demanding issues and deadlines. At home, raising three kids means a frenzy of scheduled and unscheduled activities, interactions and appointments. We eat dinner together most nights and we still honor bedtimes because: good rest, quality time together and proper nutrition is important in a fast paced life like ours!

My favorite thing about living/working in the North 32nd area is… I lived in Cave Creek for a decade before choosing to move to the North 32nd community nearly three years ago. I see dozens of different communities and hundreds of houses every year. There really isn’t anything quite as wonderful as what we all have along the North 32nd Street corridor, and look at all the attention we’re getting and action we’re amidst in 2019! Never mind the beautiful benefit of thinking about making a trip across town and mentally noting “Oh, that’s not more than a 20-30 minute drive!” #bestneighborhoodintown

My family… My family is focused on raising three children. Jaager is 14 and a freshman, Dresden is 12 in seventh grade and Lux is in first grade. They attend North Phoenix Prep and Archway North Phoenix, the Great Hearts campus on North 32nd Street.

One thing I cannot live without is… Music. All kinds of music from electronic to rap and hip hop, big band, jazz, crooners, classical and even show tunes!

When I was younger, I wanted to be… A special education teacher! I quit college to pursue a professional path in the real estate and mortgage industry. Talk about a pivot, right?!

The song I would sing at karaoke night is… My juhachiban is: Paper Planes by M.I.A. (A juhachiban is a Japanese slang term for a persons signature karaoke song!) My back-up is Brand New Key by Melanie. I am half Filipina and we LOVE karaoke. I can remember singing at a very early age and it hasn’t stopped my whole life!

The one person who
motivates me is… So, look…I’ve been trying to come up with something else with a nervousness that it would make eyes roll to read the real answer. But the dig deep, simple truth is that’s it’s me, myself and I. I tend to have more than plenty of drive, ambition and motivation that is within and I don’t take it for granted.

My first job was… At McDonald’s. My father was an area operator for a dozen plus franchise restaurants in the Long Beach and Los Angeles, CA area for over 25 years until he passed away in 2006. I began working the moment I could get a work permit at 14 years old and learned about customer service, orderliness, timeliness and hard work at that first job. It has served me well in what I do now!

My life… Is awesome and I thoroughly enjoy the freedom, creativity, love, connection and joy I get to choose every day of it!
I’m currently working on… My level 2 Reiki Certification.

The actress I would want to play me in a movie of my life is… I’ve been told that the actress that would probably most translate to my personality would be Leslie Mann. Looks-wise I get a number of different public figures: Chrissy Teigen, Tiffany Amber Theissen, or Mila Kunis. I would take ANY of them cast as me any time! #flattered

My dream vacation would be to… Vacate completely from all the various pulls of work and home life. With the age of my family and the current state of my business I’ve not yet been on a trip and not worked. I have dreamed of being on a sailboat (or yacht, while I’m dreaming!) for a month and being off the technology and communication grid for the whole time.
My words of wisdom to aspiring business owners… Be so, so kind to yourself. When you’re good to yourself, you can be good to others in your work in a sustainable way! That and never stop choosing to see everything through the lens of being a student of life!
