The program will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 10 am at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Az. 85024.
The PVNSDAR chapter has sponsored veteran memory wreaths for the Wreaths Across America Program for the past several years and is a fundraising group/sponsoring group for it. The event is a wonderful way to: Remember- our fallen Veterans; Honor- those who serve; Teach – our children the value of freedom.
In 2007 the Worchester family of Harrington, Maine along with veterans and others who had helped with their annual Christmas Wreath ceremony in Arlington formed “Wreaths Across America.” The goal was to continue and expand this effort and support other groups around the country who wanted to do the same. This non-profit organization continues the Arlington tradition as part of the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.
In 2017 Wreaths Across America and its national network of volunteers laid over 1,565,000 memorial wreaths at nearly 1440 locations in the United States and beyond. This was accomplished with help from over 3270 fundraising groups, many corporate contributions, donations of trucking and shipping plus thousands of helping hands! The annual pilgrimage from Harrington, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery is known as “ the world`s largest veteran`s parade”, stopping at schools, monuments, veterans homes and communities all along the way to remind people how important it is to “Remember, Honor and Teach!”
Proceeds place a wreath at one of the participating cemeteries: help support our fundraising partners including educational and veteran’s services outreach programs. (Please note that all sponsorships are sent directly to the location of choice and no wreaths are sent to the individuals purchasing sponsorships.)
On Saturday, December 15 there will be wreath ceremonies in over 1200 cemeteries and the PVNSDAR participates at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
That cemetery has approximated 65,000 graves and each year more wreaths are placed as veterans are remembered for their wonderful service to our country.
The service will start at 10 a.m.

The cutoff date for wreath orders is November 26, 2018.
Funds raised are used for purchasing wreaths and the PVNSDAR Packages from Home Program.
