After dedicating over 21 years of service to the Town of Paradise Valley, the widely loved Senior Postal Clerk Linda Pennington is stepping into retirement. Her tenure, which has seen her bring a touch of warmth and cheer to the Town Hall Post Office, officially ended on July 26.

Known for her beaming smile and friendly demeanor, Pennington has been a constant ray of sunshine for both residents and their furry companions. Whether she’s sorting through parcels or assisting local citizens, her welcoming attitude has made her a memorable part of the community. She has a particular affinity for pets, often greeting them by name and even sharing special lunchtime moments with Cosmo, the Town Hall’s own doodle.

Town of Paradise Valley Announces Intent to Amend Building Permit Fees in Public Hearing
The Town of Paradise Valley has issued a formal notice of its intention to add, increase, or modify user fees and charges, specifically pertaining to building permit fees. In accordance with A.R.S. §9-499.15 and A.R.S. §9-240, the town authorities have announced their plans for the fee adjustments.

A public hearing has been scheduled to address these proposed changes and will be held during a regularly scheduled meeting on or after September 14, commencing at 6 p.m. The venue for the hearing will be the Town Hall, located at 6401 E. Lincoln Dr., Paradise Valley.

The primary focus of the meeting will be to discuss and act on the amendments or corrections to the recently adopted 2023 Master Fee Schedule concerning building permit fees. This move comes as part of the town’s ongoing efforts to ensure equitable and effective fee structures in various sectors.

Citizens and stakeholders who wish to review the complete updated 2023 User Fee Study, which supports the new, modified, and/or increased fees, can do so at the Paradise Valley Clerk’s Office. Additionally, the study can be accessed and downloaded by visiting paradisevalleyaz.gov/documentcenter/view/10180/2023-user-fee-study.

One significant change is the Building Permit Fee Schedule, which will see adjustments as part of the town’s initiative to better align with industry standards and ensure that building projects are adequately supported and regulated.

The Town of Paradise Valley also assures that additional public notice of the proposed fees will be provided at least 15 days prior to the scheduled hearing. This measure aims to foster transparency and engage with the community on matters concerning their interests.
