Desert Ridge Marketplace to Host Pup-centric Happy Hour Benefiting Arizona Humane Society
Desert Ridge Marketplace is setting the stage for a unique “Paw-ty” on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Organized by the Arizona Humane Society, this event promises fun for both canines and their human companions, all while supporting a charitable cause.
Activities at the marketplace will range from B-A-R-K-O Dog Bingo and trick contests to a pop-up bar by Dave & Buster’s. Guests can enjoy a cocktail or grab a “Pup Cup” for their furry friends. Additionally, the Arizona Humane Society’s Cuddle Bunch Zone will showcase pups ready for adoption.
As a memento, attendees can customize bandanas at the Bandana Bar or collect goodie bags from PetSmart. A dog house photo booth will be available for perfect snapshots.
Though the gathering celebrates dogs, everyone is invited, even without a pet. The event is free, but donations to the Arizona Humane Society are encouraged. For more information, visit shopdesertridge.com/event/yappyhour.
Historic Turf Paradise in Phoenix Slated for Major Redevelopment
Plans have been introduced for the transformation of the historic Turf Paradise horse racetrack in north Phoenix into an expansive industrial center.
CT Realty, a California-based firm, is set to acquire the 213-acre property and has presented a conceptual site plan to the Phoenix city officials. The proposed project, titled “Winner’s Circle Business Park” as per its May 2023 site plans, aims to include roughly eight speculative industrial buildings and two state-of-the-art data centers, spanning about 2.6 million square feet.
The majority of the development, approximately 155 acres, is earmarked for the commerce park. Meanwhile, an adjacent 36-acre plot is designated as “future commercial” in the recent site plans.
