Drive-thru Food and Supply Drive
Join the Tempe community for a significant cause on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center parking lot, located at 655 E. Southern Ave. This drive-thru event, organized by Tempe Neighborhoods Together (TNT) in partnership with the city of Tempe, seeks donations of non-perishable food, feminine hygiene supplies, and pet food.

For those wondering about specifics regarding what to donate, a detailed list of needed supplies, products, and food is available, along with more information at tempe.gov.
Join Tempe’s Boards and Commissions to Shape Your City’s Future
Tempe’s Boards and Commissions make important recommendations to the Tempe City Council about all aspects of Tempe. You could play a key role in our city.
There are 28 boards and commissions, each connected to an area of special interest, such as arts and culture, sustainability, veterans’ programs, and more. Meet neighbors with similar interests and help shape the future of your city. It only takes a few hours a month to serve.
There will be 62 openings on 15 boards and commissions that need to be filled by the end of the year. The Aviation Commission; Board of Adjustment; Commission on Disability Concerns; Family Justice Commission; and Technical Code Advisory Board of Appeals are especially in need of applications.
Those interested should apply at tempe.gov/boardsandcommissions by November 13 to be considered for the next appointments.

New Cocktail and Creative Restaurant Concept Coming to Mill Avenue
Pretty Decent Concepts, the restaurant group behind Wren & Wolf, Trophy Room and Carry On, will build its fourth cocktail and creative restaurant concept in the former space belonging to PF Chang’s at Centerpoint on Mill.
Wexford Developments purchased Centerpoint on Mill in 2019. The center has 127,000 square feet of retail and office space as well as a movie theater and is situated on 6.2 acres at Sixth Street and Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe.
The new restaurant concept will occupy 7,700 square feet. It will feature two concepts under one roof: a chef-driven New American restaurant and a craft cocktail bar.
This will be Pretty Decent Concepts’ first establishment in Tempe. It’s expected to open in summer 2024.
Turkey Dip Before the Big Feast:
Chandler’s Annual Turkey Swim!
Before you dive into that Thanksgiving spread, Chandler Aquatics invites residents to take a refreshing dive at the Hamilton Aquatic Center for its annual Turkey Swim. On Thursday, Nov. 23, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., locals can engage in some lap swimming in the heated waters of the center located at 3838 S. Arizona Ave.
But there’s a twist: instead of an entry fee, participants are asked to bring a canned food donation. All collected items will benefit the Compassion Center in Chandler, adding a charitable touch to the pre-feast exercise.
