The Swift Carnival is a day of free fun for 300 under-resourced elementary students, hosted by Swift Youth Foundation. Swift is a local nonprofit focused on providing mentorship and life-changing experiences to economically disadvantaged youth.
The Sat., Feb. 25 event, held in the 32nd St and Greenway area, includes bouncy castles, dunks tanks, a petting zoo, and over 25 traditional carnival booths, all with the goal of introducing Swift’s mentorship programming to new and prospective participants.
Over 100 volunteers will help make the day possible by serving lunch, leading booths/activities, and/or serving as a group leader and mentor. Group leaders will be responsible for leading small groups of participants through the carnival, while booth leaders will run a game or activity like potato sack races, limbo, pin the tail on the donkey, and more! If you or someone you know is interested in attending Swift Carnival, please visit swiftyouth.org/carnival2023. All ages are welcome but must be pre-registered.
Swift is also looking for additional sponsors for the carnival. Whether you are a local bakery that can donate dessert or a growing business looking to give back to the community, there is a sponsorship level for you! To learn more about sponsorships please email [email protected] or visit swiftyouth.org/carnival2023.
Swift Youth Foundation is an Arizona Qualified Charitable Organization that has been providing overnight camp experiences in the cool pines of Prescott for over 40 years. They host two sessions each summer for Valley youth who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp. Camp activities promote leadership development, teamwork, goal setting, and an appreciation for the outdoors. Swift’s volunteer mentor program, which includes Swift graduates, pairs teen mentors with campers to create a powerful alliance that changes the lives of both mentors and mentees. Their afterschool and Saturday programs facilitate the mentoring relationship throughout the year. If you want to make a difference in children’s lives through a tax credit donation, go to swiftyouth.org/donate.
