Scottsdale’s annual event for the 50-plus community, the “All Things Senior” Expo & Tradeshow, is set to take place on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, located at 7380 E. 2nd St. Running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event is dedicated to providing seniors with an array of products, resources, and services tailored to enhance their quality of life.
The expo, which is a key event in the Scottsdale Senior Services calendar, successfully bridges the gap between the senior community and service providers. Last year’s event saw over 2,000 attendees. The title sponsor for this year’s event is McDowell Village, known for its commitment to senior wellbeing.
Aimed primarily at people aged 50 and above, the expo reflects Scottsdale’s status as a premier retirement destination. Notably, nearly 40% of Scottsdale’s population falls into this age bracket, with the city having the highest proportion of residents aged 65 and over in the U.S., for cities with a population exceeding 100,000. This demographic shift is further underscored by the fact that the Baby Boomer generation is expected to increase the community’s 65+ population by over 50% in the next few years.
At the “All Things Senior” Expo, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a comprehensive range of services and products. These include healthcare options, senior housing, municipal services, recreational activities, the latest in technology, transportation solutions, and entertainment. The event not only connects seniors with these essential services but also creates a platform for businesses and service providers to engage with this influential market segment.
A highlight of the expo is the availability of free health screenings, offering seniors a convenient way to stay informed about their health. Additionally, the event features a series of educational opportunities designed to empower and inform the senior community about the various aspects of senior living.
