HI, MY NAME IS… Jim Cunningham.
I’VE LIVED IN ARIZONA FOR 24 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… of the variety of adventures you can have here. Whether it’s the local food and wine scene, nature and exploring, or sports and shopping, Arizona really does have almost all directions covered.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… waking up at 5 a.m. to get my family going. I consume lots of coffee to carry me through. And I also include plenty of family time to ease the worries of the day.
MY FAMILY IS… full of life and energy. My kids are 3 and 5 years old and never slow down. They keep me young and make me old all at the same time.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… see “a typical day” above. Coffee makes the rough days smoother.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Star Wars,” any and all of them. I grew up with the franchise and am just an adult nerd now.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a Navy pilot stationed on an aircraft carrier. My parents watched “Top Gun” over and over as I was young, and I just thought that was the coolest thing.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… anything I could sing off key to and be alright.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my wife, she keeps our family together and keeps me focused every day.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… mishearing a song lyrics’ memes on the internet. I’ve made so many mistakes like this and I’m glad I’m not alone.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… a cool breeze on the patio with a glass of Arizona wine.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… The Joy Bus.
MY LIFE IS… worth living.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… the birth of my two kids.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… a month in Spain, fully immersed in all the varied wine and food regions.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… “Never ask others to do what you would not do yourself.”
