HI, MY NAME IS… Bismark Annor.
I’VE LIVED IN Glendale since 2017 AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… I’m a runner and I have trails all over my neighborhood.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… Getting up at 5 a.m. for my morning run and then getting ready for work. On the weekends my routine includes cooking breakfast, which is my favorite thing to do, and watching a lot of sports, especially London soccer.
MY FAMILY IS… very active and busy with school. They are passionate about patient care and community involvement.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… tea & oatmeal. My favorite meal is breakfast and there is nothing like a nice smooth tea any time of day.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY… I have three movies on my phone that I will not get tired of: “P.S. I Love You”, “Pride & Prejudice” and “The Notebook.” I especially love “The Notebook” because it gives perspective and shows that love doesn’t stop even if people have different socio-economic backgrounds or various hurdles.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a pediatric surgeon. I was obsessed with traveling and doing surgeries to fix cleft lip and palates, especially on Mercy Ships which combines my love of traveling around the world and surgery.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “The Power of Love” by Celine Dion.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… Bill Gates. Seeing how he travels around the world to help developing countries and how he solves problems like clean water is inspiring.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… when England lost the Euro tournament to Spain. It was a painful laugh out loud. We have been saying football is coming home, and it was just at the other side of the English Channel – so close!
THE PERFECT DAY IS… a nice Saturday which includes running 3 miles, watching London football, and a good cup of tea.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… New Life Center! It’s worth knowing that a little contribution and community engagement with places like NLC helps to make lemonade out of life’s lemons.
MY LIFE IS… busy with work, sports, and being a runner.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… a ticket to the 2012 Olympics to watch the U.S. basketball team play Brazil in London.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… a trip to New Zealand to tour farms and go on a helicopter tour of those beautiful mountains.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… be open-minded and embrace all cultures.
