etta Scottsdale, which opened in 2022 at Scottsdale Quarter, has been acquired by Austin-based RDM Hospitality. It will be closing temporarily for renovation beginning July 22 and plans to re-open in late September as a re-imagined neighborhood, Modern-Italian vibe dining concept under new ownership with the same name.
“We think there’s a real void in the North Scottsdale market for a more immersive and vibrant dining experience,” said George Martin, chief operating officer of RDM Hospitality. “We’re planning a transformative overhaul focused on four main areas – leadership changes, design and aesthetic updates, revamping the menu and strategic partnerships. We can’t wait for guests to see how we are reinventing an already great concept to bring something new and different to the North Scottsdale crowd.”
RDM Hospitality is most known for its recent opening of The Guest House, a new social dining destination in downtown Austin, that is renowned for its Alice in Wonderland-inspired cocktails. It plans to offer similar immersive cocktails when etta re-opens, as well as a more elevated menu offering a modern twist on American and Italian classics. The kitchen will be helmed by executive chef, Todd Mark Miller, the founding executive chef of STK who is also known for his $100 Philly Cheesesteak sandwich at Barclay Prime in Philadelphia. etta’s wood-fired hearth and JOSPER oven will continue to be the centerpiece of the restaurant and foundation of the menu offerings.
“The revamped menu will be a blend of homestyle, authentic Italian dishes like your grandmother would have made with a modern twist, along with more high-end entrees including a selection of steaks finished in the JOSPER,” said Chef Miller. “Everything we offer will be made fresh in-house using the finest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. We’re also planning some fun, interactive dishes finished table-side that are sure to wow guests.”
The 8,000 square foot restaurant is being redesigned by local architect, Aline Architecture Concepts, and interior designer, Social Design Studio, which have collaborated on many Valley projects. The refreshed restaurant will feature two distinct experiences with more TVs being added in the main bar for optimal sports viewing and a more relaxed environment, while the dining room will cater to a more vibe dining experience, which includes an immersive sound system created by INFINITE Audio Systems from Miami showcasing live DJ performances nightly and its own, separate lively bar. Additional planned changes to the restaurant include an overall moodier vibe, updated lighting, more lush greenery and a new private dining room.
etta Scottsdale is located at 15301 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale Quarter and will be open daily for lunch and dinner with brunch offered on the weekends when it re-opens this September. It will provide North Scottsdale residents with a fun late night dining destination with a DJ seven nights a week, along with a new neighborhood spot for all occasions.
