According to the Business Journal, Desert Mountain ranked as the most asset-rich nonprofit country club in the nation.
The club boasts a balance sheet more than two times larger than No. 2 ranked Westchester Country Club in New York.
Memberships to Desert Mountain Country Club, located at 37700 N. Desert Mountain Pkwy. are available by invitation-only and will set you back $200,000 for the initiation fee alone. Currently there is a waitlist to join.
It looks like Desert Mountain is not slowing down either, as assets are on the rise. Desert Mountain’s 2023 990 IRS filing reported an 11% increase over 2022. Many experts say asset values are not an exact indicator of club wealth or health, and that clubs often value or depreciate assets differently. However, when properly used to reinvest into the club’s well-being, it can be a key component in attracting new memberships.
