Carolyn Berry, the owner of Clean Colonic, has always been passionate about helping others. However, her path to becoming a successful entrepreneur in holistic wellness was shaped by her personal journey of overcoming debilitating health issues. Today, Clean Colonic boasts five locations across Arizona—in Tempe, Phoenix/Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Glendale, and Chandler—serving as a testament to Berry’s resilience and dedication.

Berry’s career journey began long before Clean Colonic. For 15 years, she worked as a massage therapist, honing her skills in providing physical relief and relaxation to her clients. She then transitioned to managing spas in fitness centers, a role she held for nearly eight years. During this time, she developed business systems, learned the nuances of management, and helped grow the operations she oversaw. These experiences laid the foundation for the empire she would eventually build.

In 2016, after leaving the corporate world, Berry authored a book titled “I’m Happy. How Did I Get Here?” The book outlined a program designed to guide individuals from chaos to happiness. While Berry had achieved a sense of fulfillment in her personal and professional life, she was silently battling significant health challenges.

“I had a lot of food allergies and was allergic to almost all foods. For example, I ate cheese pizza once and ended up in the ER. I had to carry liquid Benadryl with me because my stomach would swell up,” Berry recalls. “On top of that, I dealt with chronic issues with my uterus, including cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, and adenomyosis. My doctor recommended a hysterectomy after I’d suffered for over 20 years, but I was determined to explore other solutions.”

At a friend’s suggestion, Berry reluctantly tried colon hydrotherapy, or colonics. “Even though I didn’t think it was connected to my issues, I was desperate for relief,” she explains. After just seven sessions, her symptoms began to subside. “The next month, I had no cramps or pain related to my uterus. My stomach flattened, and when I went back to the doctor, they found no cysts or signs of adenomyosis. I haven’t had issues with my cycle since. On top of that, my food allergies disappeared. Today, I can eat anything I want, and truffle mac and cheese has become a personal favorite.”

This transformative experience inspired Berry to dedicate her career to helping others through colon hydrotherapy. In 2016, she opened her first Clean Colonic location in Tempe. “I started with just one device in one room,” she says. Demand for her services quickly grew, and within two years, she moved to a larger clinic with additional equipment. Soon after, she opened a second location in Phoenix/Scottsdale with three more devices. A third clinic in Fountain Hills followed, then a fourth in Glendale in 2022. Berry’s fifth location in Chandler is currently underway.

Beyond expanding her own business, Berry is passionate about empowering others to succeed in the field. She has supported two individuals in opening their own colonic clinics, helping them craft business plans and establish websites. Both ventures have thrived, allowing their owners to fully commit to their new careers.

Recognizing the growing demand for holistic health solutions, Berry decided to offer franchising opportunities for Clean Colonic. “I want to partner with people who share my vision for helping others. By expanding this concept nationwide, more people can benefit from the wellness services we provide,” she says.

Berry’s expertise and reputation have reached a global audience. She frequently travels internationally to provide colon hydrotherapy, including trips to the Namale Resort & Spa in Fiji. Multiple of these trips have been in tandem with motivational speaker Tony Robbins’ Life & Wealth Mastery seminar. Robbins, a proponent of colon hydrotherapy, emphasizes its benefits in detoxifying the body. “When body waste is stuck inside your internal systems, it can cause problems by releasing toxins back into your body,” he explains.

Clean Colonic’s success is rooted in Berry’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service. From ensuring a clean and comfortable environment to educating clients about gut health, Berry’s approach is both compassionate and evidence-based.
“More and more research shows that everything starts in the gut,” Berry says. “Colon hydrotherapy isn’t just for constipation or weight loss, it can help with a variety of health issues. For many clients, it is life changing.”

Her journey from personal health struggles to entrepreneurial success serves as an inspiration to those seeking alternative paths to wellness. With Clean Colonic’s continued growth and the introduction of franchising, Berry is poised to bring her transformative approach to even more communities.

Whether you’re struggling with gastrointestinal issues or simply curious about the benefits of colon hydrotherapy, Berry’s message is clear: “We love your guts, and hope to see you take the next step toward improving your health and life!”
