If you’ve been to Desert Ridge Marketplace recently, you’ve undoubtedly seen all the changes underway. An ongoing bevy of construction is already bringing new restaurants and stores or updating some of our favorites with new looks. But do you know everything new and coming soon?
Among the many changes is that Office Max will be leaving. Not to worry, there are already exciting whispers of what’s next.
One of the largest ‘construction sites’ at the moment is at the former PacSun location. Our fun-in-the-sun clothing center isn’t leaving, just moving around the corner. Taking its place and expanding to make an even larger store is H&M, global leader in fashion, sustainability, design and quality featuring men’s, women’s and children’s fashion and accessories.
Journeys will soon be relocating to the old Industrial Ride shop. The move will be quick, and time closed will only be a few days at the most.
Victoria Secrets PINK will be joining the Desert Ridge Marketplace family right next to the new H&M. Focusing on a slightly younger audience, this is the college-age girl’s must-shop destination for everything from undergarments to swim and loungewear.
A first to Arizona is the retailer Five Below. Slated to open by Summer 2019 in the space between Old Navy and Marshalls, this unique retailer brings you the coolest stuff and best brands of tech gear, toys, games, fitness products and room décor all for $5 or less.
Also opening by this Fall is Comicx, a Mexico based comic book themed restaurant and bar. Building upon their success throughout Mexico, Comicx blends a variety of appetizers and entrees, including pizza, salads, nachos and burgers with a neighborhood friendly bar for the adults. Drop that into an atmosphere filled with comic book memorabilia and life-sized replicas of superhero and villain characters and you assured a recipe of fun for adults and kids alike.
Some new experiences that are open now and waiting to wow include Pigtails Cocktail Bar, Tikka Shack and CB Live.
Pigtails Cocktail Bar is a speakeasy style bar hidden in the back of the already popular Whining Pig Beer and Wine Bar (located in the old Scorch Bar across from The District stage). Pigtails is decked out in a relaxing atmosphere and even has a “secret” bookshelf exit. They feature a long list of specialty cocktails, including local distilled spirits and tequilas mixed with fresh fruit.
One of our newest additions is located next to As You Wish in the old Paradise Bakery spot. With a total remodel, Tikka Shack brings you the best of Indian cuisine in a friendly, bright, fast, casual atmosphere. Not to be left behind in libations, Tikka Shack also offers a full beer wall!
Many of you are already aware of the addition of CB Live. The event venue offers some of the best comedy and music acts from around the country. What you may not have known is that right on the other side of their retractable, soundproof Skyfold wall is the amazing restaurant and bar Rock Pub and Kitchen. With room for small or large parties, the menu features delectables that include small bites (that are anything but small, so bring a friend or two), sandwiches and burgers, poke bowls, chicken and fish entrees, salads and even vegetarian options. And don’t forget to leave room for dessert!
