Set on three pristine, rugged acres overlooking arguably the most striking, 360-degree view in all of Sedona and the protected preserve of Coconino National Forest, the breathtaking natural beauty of Red Rock Country is on full display at Ambiente Sedona, the city’s newest and most luxurious stay, dining, and wellness destination.
Debuting last year as the first of its kind in North America, the boutique landscape hotel boasts a distinctive design rooted in a profound reverence for the environment, with a focus on sustainable methods and organic, modern architecture that complements the surrounding topography and minimizes the impact on the land to seamlessly integrate into Sedona’s geological wonderland.
Upon arrival, guests are escorted by a personal valet to check in, relax in the lounge, and enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine before hopping into an electric vehicle for a tour of the property before arriving at their own private Atrium, where the peaceful sound of gently flowing water is ever-present thanks to the natural waterways that snake between each structure.
Elevated above the ground by steel piers and constructed using floor-to-ceiling, bronze-tinted glass, and matte-charcoal and rusted metal, Ambiente’s 40 cubed-shaped Atriums reflect elegant minimalism from the outside, while contemporary, elemental interiors embody a lavish and tranquil hideaway through bespoke designed wallpaper, live-edge wood furnishings, moody lighting, cozy seating, and Earth-toned textiles.
While all Atriums offer the same 576-square foot, king accommodations, the dramatic 360-degree panoramic views vary considerably as each Atrium has been expertly placed to maximize view corridors, whether that’s north to the surrounding Coconino National Forest or east and south to the Steamboat, Chimney, Coffee Pot, and Snoopy red rock formations. All Atriums also feature their own private rooftop decks with a secure staircase for the ultimate sunbathing and stargazing experience. Lounge seating, a roaring firepit, and a daybed, comfortable enough for sleeping alfresco, serve as a remote locale perched between the rugged terrain below and bright, beaming stars above thanks to the city of Sedona’s Dark Sky Association.
At the center of the property, a pool and spa is positioned contiguous to an open-air bar and poolside lounge that features the hotel’s signature restaurant, Forty1, helmed by Executive Chef Dave Duncan, a Northern Arizona native with an endearing appreciation for the Verde Valley and a steadfast commitment to showcasing its abundance through cuisine. Open to the public, Forty1 houses a full-service kitchen serving breakfast and dinner daily, as well as an indoor/outdoor bar that glows like a gemstone after sunset. Directly adjacent to the restaurant, an elevated deck features fire pits, an oversized chef’s table for large groups or private events, and cozy lounge seating; as well as a custom Airstream that has been transformed and reimagined into The Drifter, a separate culinary venue serving lunch and poolside fare daily.
Situated within the hotel’s two-story, biophilic lobby building is Velvet, an intimate, three-room spa where ancient practices blend with innovative technologies to offer an unparalleled wellness experience. Specializing in treatments that integrate regionally sourced ingredients, Velvet’s offerings embody the transformative, healing and even mystical properties for which Sedona is widely revered, to improve health and well-being for guests.
With direct access to more than 200 miles of hiking and biking trails in Sedona as well as premier rock climbing, outdoor adventure and recreational activities, there’s no need for an onsite fitness center. Instead, the hotel encourages guests to explore the outdoors through its exclusive, on-site access to the Adobe Jack Trail system, where they can enjoy guided tours of the moderate 1.7-mile hike that connects to an additional seven miles of trails renowned for the picturesque scenery displayed along the way.
Ambiente is an adults-only hotel welcoming guests 18 years and older. Two Atriums are ADA compliant, making the hotel accessible to guests of all abilities. To book an upcoming stay or learn more, visit ambientesedona.com.
