It is amazing that one of the big assets of our North 32nd community is the ability to explore the flavors of cultures from around the world right here in our own backyard. Whether you are looking to taste a familiar flavor or discover a new one, North 32nd has bountiful options.

Hankering for some tasty pastrami, sausage or other specialty eastern European delights? You’ll want to check out Best of Europe Meats & Deli. If you are having trouble deciding, the owner will happily help you select items to enjoy. She encouraged me to try the spicy kielbasa as well as another smaller sausage plus I selected some other treats to enjoy. They also offer flavorful pierogi and poppy seed rolls.
Oasis Raspados

Looking for tasty treats to remind you of Mexico? Whether you crave elote (corn topped with chili and lime) or sweeter treats like raspados (Mexico’s version of the Hawaiian shave ice), this shop has many options with a tendency to kick up the spice. The chamoyada was a perfect warm afternoon treat (ice topped with with mangos, chili, lime juice and chamoya).
Pho AV

During the cooler months, soup always sounds like a good idea. Pho AV is an award-winning “Best of Phoenix” Pho restaurant. During the winter, they offer a special called Bun Bo Hue, which is a spicy beef soup that was super flavorful. Many of their other dishes looked delicious too, so I will definitely go back to try more of their dishes like the Vietnamese crepe.
Sala Thai Arizona
10880 N. N 32nd Street, #29

Tucked away next to Wright in the Garden, the Phoenix location of Sala Thai is a great place to grab a taste of Thailand as well as an awesome smoothie. If you have not been recently, you’ll notice that they updated the decor. Smoothies like the pineapple coconut (with or without Boba) are refreshing after a hike. The Tom Kra Gai (coconut milk soup), Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles), and Papaya Salad are all very tasty options for lunch or dinner.
KC Dragon Palace

Just north of Thunderbird on 32nd, you’ll find KC Dragon Palace offering satisfying Chinese food. The family that owns the restaurant is offering take-out only during these times. Call ahead and your order will be ready in no time. While I am still working through my favorite dishes, the hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef were delicious.
