A groundbreaking entertainment venue catering to car lovers has taken another step forward in Scottsdale. Cartique, an auto-centric concept blending cars and art, is being developed by Jim and Ryan Riggs, the father-son team behind Platinum Advisors LLC. The project will be part of the Riverwalk Development along Loop 101, situated on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land.
The Riggs’ passion for automobiles inspired the creation of Cartique, envisioned as a dynamic alternative to traditional car museums. The 100,000-square-foot venue will feature changing car collections, auto-themed art galleries, and interactive experiences. Also in the works will be a speakeasy, various food and beverage options, event spaces, and a unique “carcade” with competitive driving simulators.
The Riverwalk Development, master-planned by CaliberCos, will also be undergoing a transformation. Plans are to transform it into a new entertainment district named The Vibe. Cartique is set to anchor this new identity alongside other attractions such as Pure Pickleball & Padel and Home Run Dugout, both slated to break ground next year.
Cartique will capitalize on the valley being an auto-event destination. Most events are here and then gone. Platinum’s concept will be a year-round center for boutique auto auctions. Riggs aims to break ground by mid-2025, with an estimated opening at the end of 2026. The project is expected to cost around $50 million.
A Collaborative Development Effort
Negotiations are underway for the ground lease where Cartique will be built. CaliberCos, which acquired nearly 100 acres at Riverwalk in 2022 for $45 million, is in discussions with the Riggs team. A spokesperson for Caliber highlighted the ongoing collaboration, noting no final decision has been made regarding the company’s potential investment in Cartique.
In addition to Cartique, Riverwalk’s transformation into The Vibe will include immersive entertainment options, restaurants, retail, hotels, and event spaces.
This district already boasts high-profile attractions such as Talking Stick Resort & Casino and Topgolf, with more developments in the pipeline.
