Christmas in Carefree is back this year with traditional festivities taking place all month long at Carefree Desert Gardens. This celebratory time of year features a wide variety of activities and experiences perfect for family and the local community.
Kicking off this holiday season was the official tree-lighting ceremony on Nov. 30 at the Carefree Sundial. The 25-foot tree anchors the spirit of the holiday season and shines with thousands of sparkling lights.
The weekend of Friday, Dec. 7 – Sunday, Dec. 10, Christmas in Carefree is featuring a holiday market filled with live music, a winter wonderland, bounce houses, breakfast with Santa, a holiday pet parade, a Christmas cookie contest and a holiday fireworks display.
For Jewish community members, The Jewish Social Group and congregants from Temple Chai will light the Hanukah menorah every night beginning Sunday, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 9, from 5–6 p.m. in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Local families will be invited to light the menorah each evening, with a special ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 9 that will include the Temple Chai Cantor and Choir. Each evening’s service is open to attendees of all denominations and faiths.
