November is going to be a busy and exciting month at the Peoria libraries. They have organized a range of events catering to all age groups from preschoolers to adults. Check out a sampling of events happening this month.

Crazy Times with Madame Patchouli
Date & Time: Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30, 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

What: Enjoy songs, stories, and crafts with the eccentric and much loved Madame Patchouli.

LEGO Club
Date & Time: Nov. 3 & 17, 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: Kick off the weekend with LEGOs! Let your imagination run wild, or complete a challenging build. LEGOs will be provided by the library. Since not everyone thrives in loud, high-energy environments, an adapted room will be available in tandem to provide an inviting space for children with autism spectrum disorder and other sensory needs.

PapaHugs Children’s Music Program
Date & Time: Nov. 4, 11 a.m.

Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: PapaHugs original children’s music as performed by Grammy-nominated children’s Musician David Sharpe will keep children singing and dancing.

WHAM Teen Art Night
Date & Time: Nov. 6, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
Date & Time: Nov. 13, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N. 98th Ave., Peoria
What: Children, ages 12 to 17, create many forms of art with WHAM (What’s Happening Art Movement), thanks to Peoria’s Arts Grant Program. Space is limited and registration is required. November’s craft is a greeting card collage.

AARP Smart DriverTEK
Date & Time: Nov. 7, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: Join AARP’s Smart DriverTEK 90-minute workshop to learn all about the latest high-tech safety features in your current car, or what technology to look for when shopping for a new car. Learn about the safety benefits of blind spot warning systems, forward collision warnings and more.

Anime Club
Date & Time: Nov. 15, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: If you’re a fan of anime/manga like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, or My Hero Academia come watch anime, discuss manga, and even try authentic Japanese snacks at the Peoria Public Library! For ages 12 through 17.

Storytime at StoryWalk
Date & Time: Nov. 16, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Pioneer Community Park, 8755 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria
What: Celebrate National StoryWalk Week with a special Storytime at StoryWalk. Join the Peoria Main Library as they take Family Storytime outside to Pioneer Community Park. Meet at the ramada by Pioneer Lake (On 81st Ave. just South of Olive Ave.) Enjoy songs, a fun craft, and reading a couple stories from StoryWalk Contest winners along the StoryWalk at Pioneer Park.

PAWS 2 Read
Date & Time: Nov. 18, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: PAWS 2 Read is an on-going program which allows children to read aloud to therapy dogs in order to improve reading skills. When children practice reading individually to trained therapy dogs (and their handlers) they become more confident readers, while having fun! After all, a dog will not correct them or make them feel awkward if they stumble.

Canvas and Cocoa
Date & Time: Nov. 27, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
Where: Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N. 98th Ave., Peoria
What: Join in the winter fun spending the evening working on a canvas painting. While painting, enjoy some hot chocolate and a treat. For teens in grades sixth through 12th.

Monday Night Melodies
Date & Time: Nov. 27, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: In the mood for foot-tapping music? Monday Night Melodies, a free concert featuring two sets, is for you! A variety of music, from country and bluegrass to folk, oldies, and ethnic will entertain you.

Crafternooners
Date & Time: Nov. 29, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N. 98th Ave., Peoria
What: Get crafty with a rotating assortment of fun projects.

Special Teddy Bear Storytime with Mega Ran
Date & Time: Nov. 29, 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., Peoria
What: Join Mega Ran, a local Phoenix-based rapper with a newly released children’s album “Buddy’s Magic Toy Box,” as he guest stars as a reader and rapper at Peoria Main Library’s regularly scheduled Teddy Bear Storytime with Mr. Zac. Mega Ran will read a story and share a kid-friendly rap song.
