Dust off those capes and polish those wands! The streets of Downtown Chandler are set to come alive with spooky spirits and ghostly giggles at the annual Halloween Spooktacular on Friday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the iconic Dr. A.J. Chandler Park – Stage Plaza, located at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave.
Young goblins, elderly witches, and even those in-betweens are all invited to don their festive gear and immerse themselves in this hauntingly free celebration. The city promises an evening so enchanting, it’ll be hard not to be spellbound.
“Every October, we aim to make Chandler’s Halloween Spooktacular the place where memories are crafted,” shares a city official. “With attractions like the Catwalk Costume Parade and the Trunk-or-Treat, this is an experience that echoes in joyful giggles and playful shrieks throughout the park.”
So, what can attendees anticipate this year?
• Catwalk Costume Parade: Twice in the evening at 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., strut your spooky stuff and bag a glow-in-the-dark souvenir for participants 12 and under.
• Trunk-or-Treat: Don’t forget your bags because over 300 lbs. of candy await, scattered across whimsically decorated stations.
• Carnival Games: Step right up and try your luck at fan favorites from the Spooky Prize Wheel to the eerie Inflatable Axe Throwing.
• Halloween Dance Party: Shake a leg, or maybe even a skeleton bone, to the groovy beats of a resident DJ.
Younger attendees aren’t forgotten. A special “Little Monsters Zone” caters exclusively to kids aged 5 and under, ensuring they’re not overwhelmed but remain thoroughly entertained.
Proudly presented by the city of Chandler and backed by generous sponsors like Chandler Lions Club, WM, KP Elite, Semper Fi Heating and Cooling, and Raising Canes, this event is shaping up to be a magical memory-maker.
Parking is a breeze with ample free spaces around Arizona Avenue, including the City Hall Parking Garage and other nearby garages. For those looking to plot their eerie evening, a full event rundown is available at chandleraz.gov/spooktacular.
