Imagine a community where every person ages with compassion, dignity, and hope. This vision is the heartbeat of Duet: Partners In Health & Aging, a nonprofit founded in 1981 in Phoenix. For over 40 years, Duet has been a lifeline for homebound adults, family caregivers, and grandparents raising grandchildren, offering free-of-charge services that foster connections and enhance health and well-being.

At the core of Duet’s mission are more than 300 compassionate volunteers who form deep bonds with homebound adults, or “neighbors,” helping them remain independent in their own homes, surrounded by the things they love. These volunteers provide essential services, from grocery shopping and rides to medical appointments to friendly visits, paperwork assistance, and minor home repairs. Duet also extends its care to family caregivers, offering emotional support, practical guidance, and educational resources to ease their burdens and help them persevere through their caregiving journeys. Through its Meaning & Hope Institute, Duet reaches isolated family caregivers nationwide, creating a virtual community that eliminates barriers of distance, loneliness, and inequity. In addition, Duet empowers grandparents raising grandchildren by providing them with essential resources to thrive. This organization embodies the spirit of human kindness, ensuring no one faces the challenges of aging alone.

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., join Duet at the Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale for the Giving in the Garden Party—a fundraising celebration of community and compassion set against the breathtaking backdrop of Camelback Mountain. Guests will indulge in a delightful brunch, enjoy live music by Kurtis Adair, and participate in a silent auction featuring unique items and experiences. Event proceeds directly impact the lives of thousands of aging adults and children who depend on Duet’s free-of-charge services for their health and well-being. The event will also honor Pauline Boss, Ph.D., with The Rev. Dr. Dosia Carlson Legacy Award, and Kaley O’Kelley, ABC15 Arizona Anchor, will serve as the emcee. Tickets are $150 per person or $1,200 for a table of eight. Secure your spot today at duetaz.org/gardenparty and be part of something truly special.
