Theatre fans now have a new must-see show: “Gypsy” at Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT). Playing until February 20, “Gypsy” tells the story of the dreams and efforts of a powerhouse of a woman (Mama Rose) to get her two daughters into show business.

In the show, determined that her younger daughter June will have a successful career, Mama Rose’s plans are derailed when June elopes, forcing Rose to turn all her attention on her older, less talented daughter, Louise, who eventually becomes burlesque stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. The musical features songs that have become standards of the musical theatre canon.
“As we move into our seventeenth year, we’d like to thank our community for making Arizona Broadway Theatre part of their lives,” says Kiel Klaphake, Executive Producer and CEO of Arizona Broadway Theatre. “Thanks to their support and the dedication and talent of our entire staff, we are able to rebuild from the past two years and look ahead to our promising future.”

“Gypsy” plays both matinee and evening performances through February 20 at Arizona Broadway Theatre, located at 7701 W. Paradise Lane in Peoria. For ticket info and prices, visit azbroadway.org.
