HI, MY NAME IS… Lisa Rehurek.
I’VE LIVED IN ARIZONA FOR ALMOST MY ENTIRE LIFE – MINUS COLLEGE – AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… the weather is mostly fantastic. You can easily get to mountains or the beach. I love the wide-open spaces, and it’s just home. Plus, Phoenix has become quite the foodie town, which makes me happy.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… I spend my time in both Tempe and Forest Lakes, and my days are quite different depending on where I am. But generally, I love to play an empowering song first thing in the morning while I do my gratitude practice and cuddle with the pups. I do that before I get out of bed. I am not a morning person, but that empowering song usually gets me up. Then some reflective time whether it’s going for a walk, meditation, or just chilling on the porch/patio. I then get my Wordle and Duolingo in before I start my day. Next, I jump into work to support my team and tackle my tasks for the day. If I’m in Tempe, maybe coffee or lunch with a colleague. Late afternoon, I sit in a massage chair while I read a chapter or two of a book, or play pickleball, which is new to me. If up north, it’s a buggy ride, reading time on the porch, or a late afternoon walk. Somewhere in there, I often find time for silly dancing or playing with my Oculus. In the evenings, it’s more time on the porch with the pups, watching my trash TV shows, or doing more work.
MY FAMILY IS… a blessing! Amazingly supportive and, dare I say, relatively normal.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… I love to be a rule-breaker so I can’t pick just one – my dogs, my summer cabin, my friends and family, my quiet time, and my team. And the spa.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Burlesque.” I always love light movies to get me into a more relaxed head space. And I love how both Cher’s and Christina’s characters overcome challenges and have passion for their dreams. Plus, it’s got great music.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. Yes, I’m serious.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “Take Me Home Country Roads” with my group of friends. No solo karaoke for me!
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… Gary Vaynerchuk, Codie Sanchez, or frankly, me. I love watching motivational people like Gary and Codie on TikTok or YouTube, but ultimately, I have a lot of self-motivation when it comes to business and driving my success.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… “Ted Lasso.” I’m on round two and it just cracks me up.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… time with the pups, perfect weather, some sort of activity, trying out a new restaurant with friends or family, an exciting business win, a surprise gift, getting a message that something I said or did inspired someone or propelled them forward. It’s also spending some time strategizing on the business and mentoring either a team member or another business owner. Oh, and a spa day. It’s always good if a spa is involved.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.
MY LIFE IS… incredibly blessed.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… one of my favorite gifts is a picture that is now hanging in my bedroom that says, “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.” Every day that I see that I smile. I also received a bracelet that says, “You’re not alone” when I was getting ready to have surgery with an unknown outcome. The words are very powerful and brought me to tears.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… the Maldives! It’s been on my list for a while, and I just need to make it happen.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… “No matter how successful or popular someone is, it doesn’t make them better than anyone else. Stay humble and grounded.”
