HI, MY NAME IS… Stephanie Montgomery.
I’VE LIVED IN THE VALLEY FOR ALMOST A DECADE AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… of the lifestyle, the landscape, and the people.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… chasing after my kids, going for a run, and working on my business, Max & Ollie. It began as a children’s book about baseball and has developed into a baseball-themed gifts and apparel company, with a portion of the proceeds going to families in need via our charitable fund, Monty’s Marvels.
MY FAMILY IS… a happy, traveling circus. We’re always on the go, in part thanks to my husband’s career as a professional baseball player. The adventures are endless!
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… a hot cup of black coffee. Always hot, not iced – even in the summer!
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.” It’s a classic – that and “Happy Gilmore,” which my brother and I can just about recite in its entirety.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… an actress.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… I’ve been known to belt out “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” And “Africa” by Toto!
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my son, and now my infant daughter. Max & Ollie was inspired by my family (including our dog, Ollie), and now that I have a little girl, she further motivates me to work hard, be kind, and try and set a good example.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… my son. He’s 4 and the stuff he says is (sometimes unintentionally) hilarious.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… any day in which you feel at peace at the end of it.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS…
the Diaper Bank of Central Arizona. Around one in three families in Arizona struggle to provide enough diapers for their babies, and the implications are much bigger than you may think. We have been partnering with diaper banks around the country and we’re thrilled to be able to support a local organization doing amazing things to care for local families.
MY LIFE IS… organized chaos!
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… my family.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… Bora Bora or the Maldives.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… that life is not a dress rehearsal, and to try and live without any regrets.
