Hi, my name… Lindsay Taylor.
I’ve lived in Peoria for 10 years and I love it because… We have beautiful mountain views and the most gorgeous sunsets. It’s a great community and we all support each other’s small businesses.
A typical day in my life includes… Waking up with my fur babies and getting my snuggle time in first thing in the morning before I’m gone for the day. I get my coffee and relax in silence before the hustle and bustle of my salon. Then I drop my son off at school, which is directly across the street from my salon, Sinful Blow Dry Bar. Once I get there, I go through my schedule with my assistant and start getting my first client ready, then it’s nonstop from there! It is so much fun watching each transformation of each one of my clients and all my stylists’ clients as well. We are such a little salon family and I’m beyond grateful for each one of my team members. My days go by so quickly and I’m always having fun no matter what type of service I’m giving. Lately, hair extensions have been my passion because they’re such a dramatic change, but I could say that about all my services. I truly love what I do. By the end of the day, I’m headed home to eat with my family and watch something on TV together. Then it’s off to bed so I can recharge for my next busy day at the salon.
My family is… My everything. I love them so much and I work so hard to make them proud.
One thing I cannot live without… A big bubble bath with candles and a cocktail.
My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching is… This is 40. It is hysterical yet so relatable. I laugh and cry every single time.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… around people. Personal engagement came so natural to me, I always saw myself in marketing or a public relations career. Fortunately, I’m a salon owner and stylist behind the chair so I get to be around people all the time.
The song I would sing for Karaoke night would be… “A Pirate Looks at 40” by Jimmy Buffet. It was my dad’s favorite song, and it reminds me of him when I sing it. My other favorite would be the Eagles’ “Hotel California.”
The perfect day… For me would be doing anything with my family and my dogs (I have five). I adore all of them so much.
My favorite place to visit… Is Prescott. I love the vibe, all the views are beautiful, and old town is great shopping and has a fun night life. I basically just like to get out of town anywhere as much as possible. Road trips are my favorite. We have so many beautiful places to visit in Arizona.
My life is… So busy but so fulfilling. I get to wake up everyday and help change women’s lives. As dramatic as that sounds, it is true. I get to build such strong relationships and connections with my clients. I can be there for them and listen and support them with things happening in their lives, and they do the same for me. I also get to see them leave with a big smile, feeling great about their hair. I am beyond blessed with the life that I have.
The best gift I ever received was… From my husband and it was a custom portrait of me and my dad. I cherish it.
My dream vacation… Would be Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone right now. But there are so many places because I just love to travel in and out of this country.
The best piece of advice I ever received… Treat your employees how you would like to be treated.
