HI, MY NAME IS… Eduardo Borquez.
I’VE LIVED IN GOODYEAR FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… I am from Tijuana, Mexico. Living in the area for 20 years, I find it to be a wonderful place for both personal and professional life. It offers a safe environment for my family, and the schools here are excellent, which benefits my children who are in elementary and middle school.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… my role as the director of business and entrepreneur engagement, I utilize my extensive experience to establish the Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest as the primary resource for businesses, entrepreneurs, and consumers. I focus on strategic initiatives and innovative engagement to foster strong relationships and collaborative efforts that benefit the entire community.
MY FAMILY IS… I am blessed with a wonderful family consisting of my beautiful wife, Monserrath, and our three children: Alejandro (27), Zahir (12), and Mia (8); additionally, we have two beloved canine members, Sofy (4) and Nala (8 months).
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… I absolutely cannot live without my family, and a cup of freshly brewed coffee each morning!
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Stargate” by Roland Emmerich is a film I never get tired of watching. Not only is it a great movie, but I also have personal memories associated with it, having been an extra when I was 15 years old during shoots in Yuma and Hollywood.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… I aspired to be a medical doctor to help people. Today, I contribute to society by acting as a ‘business doctor’ through my PhD studies, diagnosing and aiding businesses in their strategic planning and decision-making processes.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “My Way” by Frank Sinatra would be my pick; this song mirrors the goals I have set and achieved in my life, with the greatest of these being the loving family I have built with my wife.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… God is my greatest motivator. My relationship with Him is the cornerstone of my life, guiding me to use my talents to serve others through L.O.V.E., which stands for Listen, Observe, Value, and Empathize.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD… the last time I laughed out loud was quite a memorable moment involving our youngest dog, Nala, who accidentally ran into a closed door. Ironically, I did the same right after, which doubled the humor of the situation!
THE PERFECT DAY IS… being at home, engaging in deep conversations with my wife, and enjoying the sight of my children being happy and safe. There is nothing more important to me than being a successful husband and father, which I achieve by dedicating quality time to my family.
MY LIFE IS… complete because I am blessed with everything I have ever wanted and more. I am continually thankful for the blessings and love I receive from God, and I strive to pass those blessings and love onto others.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… my three children, without a doubt. (Thank you, Monserrath for this beautiful gift – I love you!)
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD… involve spending time with my family at a beach house or a cabin, playing board games, singing, dancing, watching movies together, and exploring our surroundings.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… to always be reading a book. One of my elementary teachers shared this idea, emphasizing that we learn to read, to later read to learn…this concept has been vital in my journey as a lifelong learner.
