HI, MY NAME IS… Andrea Davis, CCIM
I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR 30 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… Scottsdale offers all the charm of a small town – it’s full of natural beauty, safe neighborhoods and a close-knit community while simultaneously providing the depth and vibrancy of a larger city. We have bustling shopping districts, a thriving arts and cultural scene and a diverse community that gives residents a unique blend of relaxed living and urban sophistication.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… a little bit of everything. Each day is a treat, like an ice cream Sunday. My day begins hiking with my dogs Sadie and Lucy, who are both rescues. I also try to squeeze in pickleball or tennis as often as possible. The bulk of my day is spent at my Scottsdale office with the Davis Commercial AZ team. It includes mentoring brokers, meeting with clients, attending networking events and fundraising for 200 Orphanages Worldwide. The hot fudge and cherry on top is sharing the evening with my family.
MY FAMILY IS… the bomb! We work and play together daily. We enjoy cooking meals, discussing highlights from our day and life’s challenges. We love game nights, volunteering, going to the gym, hiking, playing volleyball and swimming. We also share a love of travel and a lot of laughter.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… a home-cooked meal. I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America and worked as a professional chef before transitioning to commercial real estate. I will always have a passion for cooking and love to make delicious meals for my friends and family.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY… is the “Sound of Music.” It is a classic film about love, family and staying true to yourself. These core values are dear to my heart.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a race car driver. I love to go fast!
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… a medley of three songs: First, “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Kahn & Whitney Houston. Second, “Respect” by Aretha Franklin. And third, “ 9 to 5” by Dolly Parton.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my husband Stuart. He is kind, genuine and has a big heart.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… Fortunately, we laugh a lot in my family. Even on the worst days, we find something to laugh about. Otherwise, life wouldn’t be worth living. Recently, at my Mom’s 90th birthday party, we played a game where you try to roll a cookie from your forehead into your mouth without using your hands. The efforts were priceless. The entire room was bent over in laughter. FYI – only one of the 20 guests was successful.
THE PERFECT DAY… involves camping in the high country, laying in my hammock at night next to a crackling fire and pondering the magnitude of our Universe as I gaze upon the Milky Way.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… 200 Orphanages Worldwide because they are dedicated to protecting children around the world. The organization raises funds and awareness to provide safety, shelter and sustainability for orphaned children, completing more than 80 projects in 18 countries so children can have safe homes with clean water, crops and livestock.
MY LIFE IS… magical.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… the first time I held my daughter in my arms!
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… sailing around the world for a year and exploring different places and cultures. I would love to truly immerse myself in different cultures versus just spending a few days at a time at a resort.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… “Walk your talk and be truthful.” This advice influenced me in both my personal life and business dealings. Everything you put out always comes back to you. Living with integrity and aligning my words and actions has helped me build authentic, strong relationships.
