HI, MY NAME IS… Ryan Powell. I’m the CEO of Eat Clean Phx.
I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR 15 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… the food is amazing, there is hiking close by, and the community is exactly where we want to raise our two boys.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… wake up, answer emails and texts from the night before, make my family breakfast, workout, and then run Eat Clean Phx.
MY FAMILY IS… the most important thing in the world to me. Growing up, my family was a little dysfunctional; so being able to create my own family and be a positive influence for my two boys is everything.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… food and friends. Going out to a nice restaurant with great company is my idea of a perfect night.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY… “Book of Eli.” I love the message and the twist at the end.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a professional basketball player. “If I could be like Mike.”
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “To Be Loved by You,” by Parker McCollum.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… myself. I know it may sound a little narcissistic, but I am my own worst critic. I refuse to fail and always want to be better than the day before.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… Grayson (my oldest) riding on his scooter making odd noises nobody would ever care to hear.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… an early workout, home before the kids wake up, and something outdoors with the family. And an early dinner and a movie in bed with my wife.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… United Food Bank.
MY LIFE IS… busy but complete.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… my two boys, Grayson and Grant. Thank you, Brittany.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… in a cabin by a big lake with family–no phones, no internet, and no YouTube.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… to be a good leader you have to be willing to do the things nobody else wants to do. You have to lead by example.
