The City of Peoria wants to make the streetscape more beautiful by showcasing artwork designed by members of the community on utility boxes throughout the city.
The city is expanding on the pilot program that started with four locations, and they are looking for Peoria residents’ artwork to be featured at 10 new locations throughout the city. Peoria residents of all ages can participate. Artwork will be evaluated by a panel and the Peoria Arts Commission.
Art enhances the quality of life in Peoria. The mayor and council strongly support the arts in our community. Creating an art wrap for utility boxes will enhance the streetscape and give artists the opportunity to showcase their art to residents and visitors in the area, according to the city. The art wraps will be on display beginning in April.
