For 22 years, JALAPENO INFERNO in its original location has serviced its guests with award-winning Sonoran Mexican food for both dine-in and takeout.

COVID-19 forced a paradigm shift in how they did business, and they were forced to accommodate a huge new source of carryout customers. This was a curve ball for a restaurant with over 400 seats, designed for a full service, dine-in experience. An expiring lease at their sister restaurant down the street, RHYTHM AND WINE, challenged them to create a new concept to service the growing need for takeout from the two North Scottsdale JALAPENO INFERNO restaurants. The ideas turned into what they are now calling JALAPENO INFERNO GHOST KITCHEN + CANTINA. While the term “ghost kitchen” may not be familiar with a lot of people, they are confident it soon will be.

JALAPENO INFERNO GHOST KITCHEN + CANTINA is located two blocks from the original location at 7605 E. Pinnacle Road. Just opened last month, they are able to serve the takeout customer more efficiently as well as offer a host of fun new programs in the limited-service environment. The entire JALAPENO INFERNO menu is available for takeout. Party Platters, catering and Family Meal Deals are also available. Third party delivery services will also benefit from the new ghost kitchen environment.

“We are enhancing the CANTINA part of the concept by offering frozen margaritas, Mexican and Arizona craft draft beers, and a full liquor license for both takeout and dine-in,” explains owner Terry Craig. “The original giant bar will remain open. A liquor license that allows beer, wine and cocktails will provide takeout guests with a ton of new options. Or just sit at the bar and watch TV while you are waiting on your takeout food. You can even enjoy your packaged food on the patio if you want.”

The physical space can still offer patio and interior seating for hosted special events. “We can host corporate dinners, small business Happy Hour parties, family reunions, entire restaurant buy outs—any social event you can throw at us,” Craig adds.

“This concept really rounds out all of our restaurants nicely,” he continues. “It helps to relieve the takeout pressure at our other locations, allows us to continue to offer great quality food, and it offers a space for events, too. The possibilities are endless.”
