To celebrate Arizona’s cooler fall weather and the upcoming holiday season, the fourth-annual Kierland POP Festival will take place Friday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 15 in Scottsdale. Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to support local artists who have had their business negatively impacted due to having fewer opportunities to showcase their work this year.
Event planners for this year’s festival have carefully modified their plans to accommodate public health needs. All events and experiences will take place in an outdoor, open-air setting while enforcing social distancing; the local ordinance for wearing face masks in any indoor space (masks will be provided to guests who need one); and heightened cleaning, disinfecting and sanitization for all shared spaces. Hand sanitizer stations will be featured throughout the property and individual hand sanitizer containers will be available to guests.
The weekend-long festival kicks off on Friday, Nov. 13 with the 5K Night Run around The Westin Kierland Golf Club. One hundred percent of Kierland Night Run 5K proceeds will go directly to Arizona’s own cancer charity, Don’t Be A Chump! Check For A Lump! (DBAC). In 2019, they raised over $5,000 for this amazing cancer charity, and while this year’s participation is capped at 150 runners, many of the runners have made donations above their entry fee to support DBAC. On Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15, Kierland POP continues at Kierland Commons with a series of free, fun, socially distanced activities outdoors, including live music, entertainment and arts performances, and the opportunity to do some holiday shopping from an artisan market featuring almost a dozen local artists, creators and makers selling a variety of beautiful handmade creations.
