Southwest specialty coffee purveyor Cartel Coffee Lab is offering free coffee for life to those willing to make a lifetime commitment to the love of coffee. Cartel is giving away free temporary tattoos designed by artists from Scottsdale’s Dame of the West tattoo parlor at all nine Cartel locations. Those looking to make these designs permanent can book a session with the artists and will be eligible for free drip coffee for life at Cartel Coffee Lab. The giveaway runs through August and details can be found at tattoo.cartelcoffeelab.com.
With over 20 years of experience, artist and co-owner at Dame of the West Josh Carter first began tattooing at the age of 19. “Our shop runs on coffee and Cartel is our power plant,” Carter said.
“We’ve been friends with the artists at Dame for years,” said Mark Lisiecki, Cartel’s Customer Experience Coordinator. “They’re just down the street from us in Scottsdale and have been long time regulars; we thought it’d be fun to give them complete creative freedom on this.”
Eight designs are available as temporary tattoos at all Cartel locations, their newest location of which can be found at 10625 N. Tatum Blvd in Phoenix (Tatum and Shea).
Husband and wife Jason and Amy Silberschlag began Cartel 12 years ago with a mobile cart, which now has expanded into nine retail locations across three states supported by their two Arizona roasteries in Tempe and Tucson. They both take great pride in the diversity of their customer base and have often looked for ways to partner with local artists.
To date, Cartel partners with 110 rotating coffee farms spread across the globe who are guaranteed to be paid 30% to 150% above their costs, far above pricing set by Fair Trade. The Black Market product line is a newer venture which adheres to Cartel’s quality and ethical standards while developing products designed for consistency and greater approachability.
