Make-A-Wish Arizona recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a new street for its headquarters – Make-A-Wish Way – courtesy of the Scottsdale City Council.
Mayor Jim Lane and the Scottsdale City Council approved the honor and unveiled the new street sign at The Parsons Wish House. Mayor Lane was joined by Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona, and Linda Pauling, the mother of Chris, the first wish kid ever.
“To know that Make-A-Wish started here in Arizona, and that our Scottsdale community was part of the wish that inspired what is now a worldwide movement, we wanted to acknowledge that
milestone appropriately,” says Mayor Lane.
“We are excited to celebrate this special honor with Mayor Lane and the city council,” says Reich. “We love to share with people that Make-A-Wish was founded here in Arizona, and that six people in Arizona came together to create an idea that today has granted more than 500,000 wishes.”
