As Arizona’s largest locally owned fitness center, Mountainside Fitness is poised for another expansion, and the streets of North Scottsdale are buzzing with anticipation.
Mountainside Fitness recently announced ambitious plans to renovate a once bustling Albertsons grocery store into its 21st elite fitness location.
Situated just east of the 101 freeway at Scottsdale Towne Center, the chosen location boasts a sprawling 50,320-square-foot space at 15660 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. The fitness center will offer an extensive range of amenities including three separate group fitness studios, a tiered cardio platform, and an expansive strength floor with an outdoor workout space. Patrons can also look forward to basketball and pickleball courts, a dedicated childcare area, and well-equipped locker rooms complete with saunas and steam rooms.
Drawing inspiration from its Paradise Valley counterpart that launched in 2020, the new location will also house the M Café amongst other facilities.
The prime location, which remained unoccupied since the departure of Albertsons, has long awaited revitalization. Craig Cote, Mountainside Fitness CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the project. “This is a tremendous area with high-density housing, making it a stellar location for our members,” notes Cote. He adds, “Its proximity to the freeway and surrounding amenities and shops is unmatched. We are elated about introducing our 21st Mountainside Fitness to Scottsdale Towne Center and are confident it will serve the local community commendably for years ahead.”
The successful deal was orchestrated by Commercial Real Estate Brokers Regan Amato and Ryan Tanner of JLL, representing Mountainside Fitness. On the other end, brokers Ryan Desmond and Neil Board from Western Retail Advisors championed the interests of the landlord.
Prospective fitness enthusiasts are looking at a wait, as construction is slated to span approximately eight months. Mountainside Fitness aims to cut the ribbon on this new establishment by mid-2024. To mark the occasion, they will roll out exclusive member specials.
