Be a Part of the Paloma Regional Preserve Park Story
Looking to learn more about the upcoming trail system at Paloma Regional preserve and get involved? First, submit your ideas for new trail names via a survey at peoriaaz.gov/trails to have your voice heard. Then on Saturday, October 23, stop by the city’s Public Open House Meeting between 9-11 a.m. at Paloma Community Park (29799 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway) to learn even more about the new trail system.
Join a City Board or Commission
The City of Peoria uses every opportunity to establish community participation programs to allow for citizen involvement and input. Boards and commissions are created to enable Peoria residents to take an active role in city government. Volunteers appointed to serve on a board or commission help the city council examine issues and, in turn, work with elected officials and staff to help shape the future of Peoria. West Valley Art Museum Features Contemporary Watercolorists
Through November 10 the West Valley Art Museum (WVAM) is featuring artwork by the Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona. The exhibit highlights the many nuances and variations possible in water media. The WVAM Art Gallery is located on the first floor of Peoria City Hall, 8401 W. Monroe Street, in Old Town Peoria. Explore the Library October 16
It is time to “Explore the Library” at Osuna Park. Join the city for a morning of exciting free events and activities to celebrate the library and its role in the community. Get to know all about the services and collections offered by your Peoria Public Library, including the new Explore-To-Go activity and learning kits, and the seed library. Construction Complete on Jomax Parkway, Loop 303 to Vistancia Boulevard
In a recent e-newsletter for the Mesquite District, Councilmember Bridget Binsbacher shared that construction is complete for the Jomax Parkway, Loop 303 to Vistancia Boulevard project. Improvements include the construction of a new four-lane segment of Jomax Road from the Loop 303 Jomax traffic interchange, currently under construction by ADOT, to a new signalized intersection as part of this project that was constructed at Vistancia Boulevard. Locals should note that while the Jomax Parkway project is complete, the traffic signal will not be activated or Jomax Parkway opened for travel until the ADOT construction of the traffic interchange at the Loop 303 is completed this winter.
Local Veterans Welcome at Weekly Coffee Meeting
The Peoria Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee (MAC) would like to invite local veterans to a weekly coffee meeting at Haymaker (Thunderbird location at 8706 W. Thunderbird Road) from 7-9 a.m. every Saturday. This meeting has no agenda or requirements for attendance. Coffee will be provided and a full breakfast menu will be available for purchase. The motivation behind this weekly invitation is to offer Peoria veterans a place to meet, talk, and connect with other like-minded community members.
