Join Peoria youth at Rio Vista this summer with Riley’s Recreation Pass, a six-week self-guided program for ages 8 to 12 that will allow participants to try new exercises and recreational activities at their own pace. Participation in this program will include access to:
• Rio Vista Recreation Center (8866 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria) for the duration of the program (A parent or guardian over the age of 18 must be present in Rio Vista at all times if the participant is using the facility)
• Membership starter kit
• Fitness checklist and activities with challenges to complete each week at your own pace
• End of the program party with Riley Rabbit (Rio Vista’s official mascot) on July 31
The self-guided program runs from June 19 to July 30. The price is $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents. To register, call 623-773-8600. All registration must be completed by June 9.
Join the Peoria Family and Youth Services Summer Program
Attention youth and teens, check out three fun summer programs offered by the city of Peoria Family and Youth Services. Programs for youth ages 7 to 11, and teens ages 12 to 17, are available at the Peoria Community Center (8335 W. Jefferson St).
The program runs Monday through Thursday through July 22 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition, an offsite Teen Program is available at Sunrise Mountain High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee is $10 per week; each week will have activities, crafts, and games centered on a specific theme. City Pools Now Open
Peoria’s three public pools are open for the summer. Peoria, Centennial, and Sunrise Mountain pools will have open swim through Sunday, August 6. Day passes for children ages 2 to 17 years old are $2 and adults 18 years old and older are $4. Residents can save money by purchasing seasonal individual passes for $30 or family passes for $100, which are valid for up to six family members who live in the same household. The city also provides swim lessons taught by certified instructors at each pool for $25 a session for Peoria residents.
