For the second time, Second Saturdays goes virtual on Saturday, May 9 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This time event organizers are welcoming all Peoria businesses to the online festival for free.

“We plan to highlight our local businesses throughout Peoria during this virtual event to show the city’s support as well as offer residents a way to support them,” says Marylou Stephens, arts and events manager. “This version of the event is easily accessible on Facebook, provides hours of entertainment, and gives businesses another platform to showcase their offerings to the community during a difficult time.”

Second Saturdays is a popular monthly event in Old Town Peoria that went virtual for the first time on Saturday, April 11. This was in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and Governor Doug Ducey’s stay-at-home executive order. Hundreds of people tuned in to see live musical performances, crafts and cooking demonstrations on Facebook at facebook.com/Peoria2ndSaturdays.

On May 9, viewers can once again tune in on Facebook to hear musicians, watch cooking demonstrations and learn more about various Peoria businesses. Also, viewers can follow along on a BINGO card throughout the event, checking boxes for a chance to win a new Peoria Forward T-shirt.
