The Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St., is set to host an array of engaging events throughout August, offering something for everyone in the community. From Dungeons & Dragons sessions to a Mario Kart tournament, the library’s programs cater to a variety of interests and age groups.

Lego Club
Aug. 2, 9, 10, 23, & 30, 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Kick off every weekend with creativity at the Lego Club. Children can let their imaginations soar by building unique creations or completing challenge prompts. An adapted room will be available to accommodate children with autism spectrum disorder and other sensory needs, ensuring an inclusive environment for all.

Dungeons & Dragons
Aug. 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The library invites adventurers aged 13 and up to join a Dungeons & Dragons session. Participants will use pre-generated characters and a streamlined ruleset to embark on a thrilling one-shot adventure. The library provides dice, though players are welcome to bring their own. This event takes place on the first Wednesday of every month, and registration is required.

Teddy Bear Storytime
Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28, 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Families with young children can enjoy Teddy Bear Storytime, where Mr. Zac will lead an evening of songs and stories, perfect for winding down the day. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bear or snuggle buddy. This event is designed for kids aged 2 to 6 and takes place every Wednesday evening.

Hello K-Pop WV
Aug. 10, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
K-Pop enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the Hello K-Pop WV social club. Participants can trade photocards, decorate toploaders, craft concert freebies, and enjoy a playlist of the latest K-Pop hits. Comfortable clothing and water are recommended for those who want to dance.

Monday Night Melodies
Aug. 12, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Music lovers can attend Monday Night Melodies, a free concert featuring a variety of genres, including country, bluegrass, folk, and oldies. The event will be held in the Main Library’s Willow Room, which opens at 5:30 p.m.

Read It & Eat It Cookbook Club
Aug. 14, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Foodies will enjoy the Read It & Eat It Cookbook Club, held once a month. Participants are encouraged to select a recipe featuring apples, prepare the dish, and bring it to share. Cookbooks can be checked out at the upstairs reference desk a month prior to the meeting.

Family Video Gaming Nights
Aug. 15, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Families can bond over video games. The event will feature popular games such as “Spider-Man 2,” “Lego Brawls,” and “Princess Peach Showtime!” No registration is required; just show up and play.

PAWS 2 Read
Aug. 17, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Children can practice their reading skills with therapy dogs at PAWS 2 Read. This ongoing program helps young readers gain confidence by reading aloud to trained dogs.

“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” Tournament
Aug. 17, 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Teens aged 8 to 17 can compete in a “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” tournament. Prizes include Culver’s Value Baskets, mystery Lego figures, enamel pins, and stickers. Registration is required; call 623-773-7556 for details.
