Thank you to the 1,480 people who took part in Peoria’s 2024 Retail and Restaurant Survey!
Ethnic restaurants were highly requested by residents, with Mexican, Italian, and Chinese cuisine topping the list. Residents also favored steakhouses and breweries.
When it comes to retail establishments, residents had a high demand for specialty grocery stores such as Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Clothing boutiques and home décor stores also received significant interest from participants.
In terms of entertainment options in Peoria, residents desired a concert venue or restaurants featuring live music. Bowling alleys and movie theaters also ranked high in the survey. Peoria residents also love anything to do with golf, asking for mini golf, indoor golf, public courses and driving ranges.

Who participated:
• 94% of participants live in Peoria
• 46% of participants live in 2-people households
• 67% of participants do not have children living at home
• 64% of participants have a combined household income of $100,000 or more
Growing Peoria’s retail and restaurant base is important to creating local jobs and city revenues that support parks, public safety and quality of life amenities like parks and trails.
