This month, downtown Peoria will shine with the arrival of “Light at Play: An Interactive Art Experience.” Scheduled from March 8 to 17 at Osuna Park, located at 10510 N. 83rd Ave., this free public exhibit promises an enchanting blend of art, light, and technology.
The event features six large-scale, interactive, and illuminated artworks designed by the acclaimed artist team at Pneuhaus, a studio renowned for its vibrant and transformative public space installations. These installations invite visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in a world where art meets innovation.
“Light at Play” aims to engage the community by offering an array of sensory experiences through its dynamic and interactive art pieces. From the physics-inspired Fabric Prism that casts a rainbow of colors to the ethereal Cloud Lights mimicking floating clouds, each piece is designed to inspire wonder and curiosity.
Among the installations, visitors can interact with Street Seats, a creative seating arrangement that encourages participants to shape their environment. The Grove installation, with its towering columns of light, offers an exploratory space within the park. Meanwhile, the Helix Seats not only provide a place to rest but also change animations based on touch, thanks to embedded LEDs and pressure sensors.
The exhibit will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., allowing the community ample opportunity to explore and interact with the artworks. Pneuhaus’s dedication to merging natural inspirations with artistic expression is evident in each piece, promising a memorable experience for Peoria residents and visitors alike.
