Theater Works is set to offer an exciting lineup of events this fall, including Adult Broadway Dance Workshops and the musical, Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” These programs cater to both aspiring dancers and young theater enthusiasts, providing rich cultural experiences for the community.

Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio Jr.”
From Aug. 9 to Sept. 1, Theater Works will present Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” at the Gyder Theater, located at 10580 N. 83rd Dr. This 60-minute musical retells the classic Disney story of Pinocchio from Geppetto’s perspective. Featuring beloved songs like “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings,” along with new compositions by Stephen Schwartz, this production promises to delight audiences of all ages.

Tickets for Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” are priced between $23 and $27. The show will bring to life characters such as the Blue Fairy and Stromboli, as Geppetto embarks on a journey to discover the true meaning of family.

Adult Broadway Dance Workshops
Adult Broadway Dance Workshops are a biweekly program designed for adults aged 18 and over. The workshops, priced at $50 per month, offers participants the opportunity to learn a wide range of dance styles and techniques from a rotating team of choreographers. The classes are held twice a month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Each month features a different instructor, ensuring a diverse and dynamic learning experience.

The workshop schedule is as follows:
• August 16 & 30 with Morgan Rose-Johnson
• September 13 & 27 with Cydney Trent
• October 11 & 25 with Lizzie Baggleman
• December 6 & 20 with Kat Bailes
Morgan Rose-Johnson brings Broadway experience, having performed in “School of Rock” and toured nationally with “Shrek The Musical.”

Cydney Trent, a seasoned performer and choreographer, has worked with Phoenix Theatre and the Arizona Broadway Theatre.

Lizzie Baggleman, a dedicated educator, has nearly two decades of experience in the arts. Kat Bailes, a local talent, has performed and choreographed extensively in the Valley and teaches at Childsplay.

Each workshop is limited to 15 students, providing an intimate and focused environment for learning. Participants can choose to attend a single month or multiple months, with each session offering unique choreography and techniques.
