Phoenix Children’s Chorus (PCC) recently launched its newest program, Tutti, an inclusive and adaptive community youth choir designed to welcome children with and without disabilities. This groundbreaking program aims to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where singers can explore their musical talents and experience the joy of choral singing.
Tutti, the first community youth choir of its kind in Phoenix, encourages children and youth who love singing, regardless of physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities, to join. The program focuses on fostering a love for music, developing vocal skills, and building confidence, ensuring every child has the opportunity to shine.
Through personalized instruction and a collaborative approach, Tutti celebrates the unique voices and potential of each participant, creating a harmonious and diverse musical community. Singers of all abilities will join together to learn while promoting social inclusion. The program includes various musical games, teamwork, foundational singing, sign singing techniques, and professional performance opportunities.
No audition is required for participation. The program utilizes vocal singing, American Sign Language, and visual aids to make the experience accessible to all. Tutti is open to children in grades 2 to 12, with weekly Wednesday evening rehearsals beginning in September. The choristers will be involved in performances throughout the season, alongside the Phoenix Children’s Chorus’ premier downtown program. Their first performance will be singing the National Anthem at the Cardinals vs. Chargers game on Monday, Oct. 21.
