PVSchools recently announced that top Pinnacle High School seniors earned national academic accolades.
Five Pinnacle Seniors Named as 2021 National Merit Finalists
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has released the names of the 2021 National Merit Finalists and five students from Pinnacle High School have received this recognition:
• Ivan Andreopoulos
• Brynn Kramer
• Tyler Leonard
• Angelina Mann
• David Mirtich
More than 15,000 of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2020 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered later this year.
Beginning this month and continuing to mid-June, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation will notify the finalists that they have been selected to receive a Merit Scholarship award. There are three types of Merit Scholarship awards – National Merit $2,500 Scholarships, Corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards, and College-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards.
A Pinnacle Senior Named a Candidate for the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars
PVSchools has five seniors who have been selected as candidates for the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars. Students from across the United States are selected by invitation based on their SAT or ACT exam scores to apply for the U.S. Presidential Scholars. Students have the opportunity to become Presidential Scholars based on three paths of accomplishments General, Arts, and Career and Technical Education (CTE).
Pinnacle senior Angelina Mann, who is also a National Merit Finalist, is also a candidate for the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Semifinalists are notified in mid-April. Scholars are notified in May.
