Mark your calendars for a grand evening as the Scottsdale Firefighters Association prepares to host its 24th Annual Behind the Flames Scottsdale Firefighter Charities Dinner. Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 24, the event is at STK Steakhouse, located at 7134 E. Stetson Dr., in Scottsdale.
In a celebration of bravery, resilience, and community spirit, this annual dinner honors both the dedicated Scottsdale firefighters and a select group of remarkable Valley residents. This year’s honorees include the PGA Tour Champion and cancer survivor, Billy Mayfair, the 2021 recipient of the esteemed Sidney Berger Award, Debra Ann Byrd, and a 12-year-old gymnastics sensation nationally acclaimed for her skills, Jaysha McClendon.
The evening promises an array of activities, beginning with a reception for sponsors and a cocktail session at 5 p.m. The main event will kick off with a luxurious dinner at 6 p.m., boasting a menu of premium steaks, sumptuous seafood, and craft cocktails. As the highlight of the evening, the honorees will grace the stage to narrate their individual and inspiring journeys.
Brian Shedlock, representing the Scottsdale Firefighters Association, says, “The night promises to be unforgettable, as we come together to celebrate Billy, Debra Ann, and Jaysha. As our largest fundraising event, we channel all proceeds to support a multitude of Valley charities throughout the year. The overwhelming support we receive from individuals and businesses amplifies the impact we can make in our community.”
Single tickets for this cause are up for grabs at $150 each. For those looking to make an even more significant contribution, various sponsorship levels are available. There’s also a special provision to sponsor a firefighter’s attendance for $500.
