The Scottsdale Philharmonic recently received a $1,000 grant from the Scottsdale League for the Arts. The funds will be used to meet the Philharmonic’s expanded mission of focusing on children’s knowledge and awareness of classical music. The expanded mission includes developing an annual children’s concert and a youth orchestra as well as giving four music scholarships for underprivileged youth through Rosie’s House. All concerts, except for their Holiday Concert, are FREE to attend.
The Scottsdale League for the Arts gives annual grants to nonprofit organizations that impact the arts or arts education programs in Maricopa County. Since 2000, the group has given more than $4.5 million to local arts programs.
“We’re delighted to receive this grant to help us continue to expand our mission of bringing classical music to the community free of charge,” says Joy Partridge, President and Co-Founder of the Scottsdale Philharmonic.
